concrete

concrete develops concepts.
we develop them in architecture, interior design, urban development and brand development.

concrete unites people.
we work with a team of 46 multidisciplinary creatives as architects, interior designers  and visual marketeers to help businesses and institutions.

concrete loves provoking, confusing, philosophizing, scale models, haute cuisine, burgers, and (most of all) shattering dogmas.

concrete provides solutions.
no grand theories or abstract ideas. just things that work.

concrete likes to let the work do the talking.

The concept of the Canal House was to build a luxury
boutique hotel which offers all the service you expect
from a five star plus hotel, combined with the
welcoming and warm feeling you get from a home.
The aim was to create a true home away from home,
in a house which you could use like it was your own.
Besides individual rooms the guests have the

opportunity to stay in the living room, the parlour with
a house bar, the garden and even the kitchen.
The Canal House is situated in an old canal house in
the centre of Amsterdam, with most of the old
ornaments, floor finishes and chimneys still intact.
In order to underline the concept and therefore keep
the character of an old canal house in a contemporary

way, all ornaments were preserved and painted black.
This creates a perfect mix between the historic opulence
in a contemporary environment.
