concrete

concrete develops concepts.
we develop them in architecture, interior design, urban development and brand development.

concrete unites people.
we work with a team of 46 multidisciplinary creatives as architects, interior designers  and visual marketeers to help businesses and institutions.

concrete loves provoking, confusing, philosophizing, scale models, haute cuisine, burgers, and (most of all) shattering dogmas.

concrete provides solutions.
no grand theories or abstract ideas. just things that work.

concrete likes to let the work do the talking.

concrete took the creative books that Mendo is all
about as the starting point for the design. The result
is a bookshop with plain, black Mendo books as
building blocks. Entering the shop the client is
surrounded by filigree book shelves made of
cold-worked steel filled with the black books.
In some spots the Mendo books have been

replaced by books that are sold in the shop. These
display spaces create colourful gaps within the black
Mendo book walls. At the ends of the bookshelves,
which run along the entire length of the shop, we
placed a mirror wall which optically doubles the length
of the shelves and shop. In the centre of the shop
concrete placed smaller bookshelves which have

seemingly ‘fallen over’ to form small islands where
customers are invited to sit down and have a closer
look at the items for sale.
