Based on a concept of ‘affordable luxury for the people’, citizenM is opening its US flagship hotel, the 13th member of the citizenM family within the culturally rich and vibrant Bowery area of downtown Manhattan. Abandoning the traditional rules of hospitality, this expansion focuses on a clever mix of technology as well as art at every turn, celebrating its environment.

CloudM is an expansive rooftop bar, outdoor terrace, and spectacular 360-degree views of New York. Occupying the entire 21st floor, cloudM features oak cabinets, Vitra chairs and couches, and custom chandeliers so large, they’ll catch the eye of pedestrians on the street.

the citizenM room of 14 sqm
citizenM's philosophy of 'affordable luxury' is best experienced in the bedrooms. They are smartly furnished with everything modern travelers need, and nothing they don't.

MoSa Museum of Street art
Spanning 20 stories of citizenM Bowery’s stairwell as well as outdoor mural, this permanent installation will be 5 Pointz Creates’ largest public project since 2013.

Citizens of Bowery
Christelle de Castro‘s “citizens of the Bowery.”The public photography installation occupies 180 windows on the façade of the hotel, filled with 62 black and white portraits of locals. A true celebration of the city and its diversity.
Art runs through citizenM Bowery from the façade to the stairwell to the bedrooms. Rather than a single curated collection, the hotel holds several bodies of work that each engage with the city in their own way - a reflection of citizenM's belief that a blank wall is a wasted opportunity.
Inside, the living room is filled with an eclectic mix of contemporary art, photography, and objects. A mix of commissioned pieces and works collected by citizenM's stylists, with a strong focus on local artists.
