In Amstelveen, Moos, in collaboration with Eigen Haard and the municipality of Amstelveen, has realized the Moos Kalkbranderij project: a unique flexible housing development with 97 homes. The project is located a stone's throw from several green spaces and represents the transformation of a former industrial site into a contemporary living environment, with an emphasis on sustainability and social function. Moos Kalkbranderij is not just a place to live, but an example of how urban densification, sustainability, and social value can converge. A living environment where the human dimension is central – now and in the future.

The homes are housed in three diverse residential blocks, positioned to embrace a central living garden. This design provides a clear demarcation from the surrounding industrial estate and an open connection with the adjacent green strip. The overall layout plays with heights and orientation, providing a straightforward but effective setup. The buildings are largely constructed of CLT, with termal wooden cladding that underscores their sustainable character. A striking visual element of the project is a mural by Dutch artist Zenk One (Robin Nas). The work references Amstelveen's natural surroundings, giving the project a recognizable identity and enhancing the residents' experience.

Kalkbranderij offers housing to various target groups. The combination of studios and two-bedroom apartments makes the project suitable for first-time renters, refugees, and those seeking urgent housing, who can start or progress their housing careers here in a small-scale setting.
